Seeds of Purpose, Threads of Impact: Chapter 2.0 Unfolding with Power
What happens when legacy, purpose, and community come together in one room? Something unforgettable.
This past weekend, Impact Sierra Leone (ISL) hosted another powerful edition of the Threads of Impact Purpose Mixer — a meaningful, intimate gathering held in the heart of the DMV. An inspiring circle of changemakers joined us, all coming together for one reason: to build lasting impact where it’s needed most. More importantly, our gathering was a valuable time for connections, collaborations, and conversations, aimed at building support for our 2025 project: the Construction of the Impact Vocational Training Center at Foindu Village, Northern Sierra Leone.

Who We Are and Why We’re Here
Impact Sierra Leone is a nonprofit 501c3 organization bridging the gap between hope and opportunity for underserved communities in Sierra Leone. Through our flagship program, Seeds of Life, we empower vulnerable populations — especially women and youth — through sustainable farming, education, skills training, and leadership development.
Our goal?
To create sustainable solutions that reduce poverty, inspire self-sufficiency, and build strong, vibrant communities.
We believe that change happens when people come together, and that’s exactly what our Threads of Impact Mixers are about.

Chapter 2.0 — And It Just Keeps Getting Better
We call this Chapter 2.0, and it’s more than just a new season; it’s a deeper awakening. A clearer vision. And the truth is, it keeps getting more exciting and more inspiring. With every event, every conversation, and every connection, we find new reasons why showing up truly matters.
Because we’re not just hosting mixers.
We’re touching lives.
Taste, Talk, Transform: Flavors That United Us, Stories That Moved Us
Hosted in partnership with our friends at the Strategic Collaboration Network, LLC, at their Columbia, Maryland, office, the event brought people together in a warm and welcoming space. Guests enjoyed authentic Sierra Leonean cuisine, fun cultural trivia, and deep, purposeful dialogue on the importance of vocational training.
Every taste carried a memory. Every bite told a story. From the spicy aromas to the vibrant colors of each dish, culture came alive around the table — inviting guests into a shared experience that honored the past while building hope for the future.
The room was full of laughter, legacy, and light — with beautiful photo displays capturing our journey from Christmas Day of Hope events to the different building project phases of the Impact Vocational Training Center.
A Crown of Victory- A salute to everyone who refused to break, this is not just a book, it’s a battle cry, a mirror, and a celebration.

One of the night’s highlights was the opportunity to purchase autographed copies of Dr. Adama Kalokoh’s new book, A Crown of Victory, with proceeds going directly to ISL’s programs and projects. Her story of resilience and purpose reflects exactly what we’re building together: a future filled with hope and empowerment.
How Threads of Impact drives the real purpose and impact of our journey
The Threads of Impact mixers are not just social gatherings — they’re strategic touchpoints for change. Through these events, we’re indirectly strengthening the capacity of women farmers in Foindu Village, while raising funds for labor, supplies, and the continued progress of the Vocational Training Center.
These moments matter.
Every conversation, every connection, every shared story brings us closer to a future where Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable are not just surviving — but thriving.
What’s Next?
Our next Purpose Mixer Chapter 3.0. will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, and we’d love to welcome you as our next VIP guest. Whether you’re passionate about education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, or women’s empowerment — your voice belongs in this room.
Together, we are planting seeds of purpose and weaving threads of lasting impact. And this is only the beginning of Chapter 2.0.
